San Diego’s Unemployment Rate Falls to Lowest Level Since 2023

The Region’s Civilian Labor Force Drops

San Diego’s unemployment rate has dropped below 4% for the first time since last June. The local unemployment rate of 3.6% was down from 4.1% in April, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That compares to California’s statewide rate of 4.5% and to last year’s 3.3% local rate. It was also the first time in a year that San Diego’s unemployment rate was below the nation’s.
