Intel and other semiconductor manufacturers have long made chips that power personal computers, smartphones and automobiles. Now, a $100 million factory under construction in North Phoenix is expected to support domestic semiconductor manufacturing in the latest sign that microchip makers can also deliver a jolt to local real estate markets.
