Cluttons expands into Scotland and appoints head

Over the past few months Cluttons has grown its presence across the regions and now it is venturing into Scotland, after appointing Glasgow lead Rachael Hogg. Becoming a partner and head of the infrastructure team, Hogg will help to expand the firm's digital infrastructure services and team, having spent more than a decade at leading telecoms companies in the UK, most recently at Waldon Telecoms.

Cluttons’ expansion into Scotland follows its growth into northern England, with office openings in Manchester and more recently Newcastle, both leading to a series of hires this year. Sami Ali will also join the infrastructure team based in Newcastle. Hogg will initially develop a team in the region before an office is opened in early 2025.

Knight Frank shakes up UK leadership

Knight Frank has appointed Stephen Clifton to the newly created role of UK managing partner. Clifton will step up from his role as head of commercial, which he has held since 2018 after previous roles as head of City investment and head of central London offices. He will continue to sit on Knight Frank’s group executive board and will join the global strategy board. Tim Robinson, now head of commercial consultancy, will take over as Knight Frank head of commercial, with Clifton and Robinson’s promotions effective from 1 April next year. Robinson has spent 30 years at Knight Frank and has been head of West End offices for 10 years, head of property asset management and head of commercial consultancy.

Christie & Co bolsters capital markets team

Christie & Co, the specialist business property adviser, has named Beth Newman as senior surveyor in its capital markets team. Newman joins the firm from Avison Young, where she was part of the capital markets team in Manchester. In that role she focused on acquisitions and disposals of investment property, in addition to giving investment advice to a range of clients and providing due diligence for large institutional transactions. The company said the position was created following the appointment of Michael Hodges to managing director of the capital markets team in June. Newman will work with Hodges across all Christie & Co’s sectors on a national basis across the various regions.

Colliers changes Netherlands CEO

Colliers has appointed Jeroen Lokerse as chief executive of the Netherlands. He joins after a 17-year tenure at Cushman & Wakefield, most recently holding a global product innovation role and previously serving as the head of the Netherlands for more than a decade. He will be responsible for accelerating the strategic direction and sustained growth of the Dutch business while enhancing the opportunities available to the agency's people within the Netherlands.

Dirk Bakker, the current chief executive, will the European team of hotel specialists as the head of hotels, EMEA, after Lokerse joins Colliers in January.

Former CEG boss joins major regeneration scheme

Karen Stafeckis, the former head of development for the North at CEG, has been appointed as development director of York Central, one of the UK’s largest city centre regeneration schemes. Stafeckis will work closely with Tom Gilman, managing director of McLaren Regeneration, and collaborate with Allan Cook, founder of Arlington Real Estate, the strategic development partners of York Central. At CEG she led significant regeneration projects and partnerships across brownfield land in Leeds.

Stafeckis is joined by Jack Widdup, development director at McLaren Living, who will focus on York Central, and Joseph Young, who joins as development surveyor.

Eddisons makes healthcare specialist director

Eddisons has appointed healthcare specialist Kate Deakin as a director in its valuation team, with the recruit based in Manchester. Deakin has more than two decades’ property industry experience and joins the firm from Cushman & Wakefield. She will "carry out valuations and provide strategic property advice" for a range of healthcare providers, "including nursing and specialist care homes, children’s day nurseries, pharmacies, dentists and GP surgeries". Managing partner Anthony Spencer said: "With an ageing population and continuous advances in medicine, the healthcare industry is one the fastest growing globally and we’re seeing a huge increase in demand for our services in this field."
