One of the top West Coast executives at Blackstone has stepped down from his role with the world's largest commercial property owner.
Chris Graham left New York-based Blackstone's real estate group where he served as managing director overseeing West Coast acquisitions. Graham is a real estate veteran who previously worked at JPMorgan Chase as managing director and team leader of West Coast acquisitions and served as manager for investment firm Archon Group, according to his Blackstone profile.
At Blackstone, Graham was involved in real estate transactions totaling several billion dollars, with notable deals including a nearly $1 billion investment in a London soundstage production facility in a joint venture with Los Angeles-based Hudson Pacific Properties, according to a profile by Commercial Observer. He also worked on a recapitalization deal involving 9.5 million square feet of industrial space and the purchase of 66 multifamily properties for more than $1 billion in the San Diego area.
Scott Trebilco remains based in Blackstone's Los Angeles office as senior managing director and firm partner.
Graham didn't respond to CoStar News' request to comment. A Blackstone spokesperson confirmed the departure, noting the company is "grateful for Chris’s contributions and wish him all the best."
In an unrelated move, another notable leadership shift is taking place at EQ Office, Blackstone's U.S. office division. Brendan McCracken, senior vice president and market lead of Southern California, has departed the company.
McCracken didn't respond to requests to comment from CoStar News.
The departures are the latest moves in commercial real estate in greater Los Angeles. Jonathan Firestone was named Newmark's co-president of global debt and structured finance in the Los Angeles office. He was previously managing director with Eastdil for 23 years.
Meanwhile, Phil Brodkin, formerly managing principal of Cushman & Wakefield in Los Angeles, is now chief operating officer at Torrance-based contractor Esplanade Builders, according to his LinkedIn.
