Population Growth Remains Strong in Austin, Texas

Austin’s population continues to grow at a strong clip relative to the rest of the country. The Texas Capital expanded by 2.1% between mid-2022 and mid-2023, placing it second among major cities with populations over one million people. On a nominal basis, the population expanded by 50,100 people, ranking seventh nationally.
