The market for large deals appears to have bottomed out and started to rise again, as has the investment market as a whole. For sister publication Thomas Daily's Top Deals, there were 30 commercial transactions above €60 million nationwide in the first half of the year, 10 more than a year ago.
Logistics properties in particular contributed to the upturn, with 10 deals at over €100 million.
The office segment was less dynamic, with a few exceptions: the newly developed office and commercial building KÖ 35 in Stuttgart's prime location Königstrasse sold for over €60 million, and S Immo and AOK sold off larger office portfolios. The largest transaction of the half-year was the sale of KaDeWe by Signa in Berlin.
As far as insolvency realisations are concerned, Signa properties are on the list seven times, as well as a stranded Gerchgroup project in Cologne. The five largest known residential transactions totalled around €1.5 billion in the first half of the year, compared to €1.2 billion in the previous year.
