A top commercial brokerage has made a new hire to help attract more investors focused on developing sports and entertainment facilities.

JLL appointed Robert Koshgarian as vice president to the sports and entertainment project and development services team, which designs and builds professional and collegiate sports venues, multipurpose arenas, concert halls, and convention centers for clients.

Koshgarian, who most recently worked for architecture firm Gensler as an associate responsible for designing sports projects, brings nearly 15 years of experience in venue design and master planning to the firm. He recently helped design the planned entertainment district for the Arizona Coyotes, an NHL team in Phoenix.

“Thoughtfully designed venues play a crucial role in fostering community engagement and contributing to a city’s overall success," said Koshgarian, who plans to design venues that encourage fans to spend more money and benefit surrounding communities.

Koshgarian has a unique window into the world of sports, entertainment and youth culture thanks in part to his role as co-founder and designer of the edgy Los Angeles art and skater lifestyle brand Snugs.

He joins the company at a time when sporting and live event venues across the nation are adding VIP seating, upgraded technology, and higher-end food and beverage options to draw big-spending fans as well as big-budget concerts and traveling events.
