Stream Realty Partners President Chris Jackson has been tapped to also serve as the commercial real estate firm's CEO as it continues its expansion across the country.

The creation of the CEO position underscores the company's commitment to growth as some brokerage firms cut costs. Jackson said in a statement that the firm will continue to strategically align its business "as our clients' needs shift in the ever-evolving landscape of the commercial real estate industry."

The appointment of Jackson as the Dallas-based firm's president and CEO comes on the heels of several other major personnel moves made by Stream. The company recently named Ariella Middlebrook as chief financial officer and Kate Lengyel as chief human resources officer. In recent years, the firm has added hundreds of workers, taking its 950-person workforce to more than 1,400 employees.

The rest of the C-suite at Stream includes Chief Investment Officer Adam Jackson, Chief Operating Officer Blake Kendrick, Kevin Christ, chief information and digital officer, and Susan Bloomfield, chief marketing officer.

Preston Young, who most recently led national office investor services, has stepped into a more expansive position as national head of investor services. With this new title, Young not only oversees office but also industrial real estate.

Kyle Valentine, the executive managing director in Houston, will now oversee some operations previously managed by Jackson, including cross-marketing strategies and business development between all service lines.

National Expansion Underway

Stream, founded in 1996 by former Trammell Crow executives Lee Belland and Mike McVean, has expanded into several new markets over the past couple of years and seeks to grow some of its U.S. markets, including Nashville, Tennessee; northern Virginia; Phoenix; and Florida.

In a recent interview with CoStar News, new CFO Middlebrook said she was recruited from Chicago to Dallas to oversee the Stream's finances. The longtime executive said she knew of the company from her time at Avison Young, where she also was the chief financial officer years ago and had heard good things about Stream's reputation.

"Stream was a great fit," Middlebrook told CoStar News. "I had become acquainted with the recruiters, and they mentioned that Stream [was building] an organization of operational excellence."

The executive said she has built her career on helping firms navigate transitions and bringing some lessons learned, as well as strategic thinking, to the table. In her career, Middlebrook said, she has learned that people are at the heart of any organization.

In looking at Stream's growth opportunities in the United States, Middlebrook said, "We want to focus on the sectors that are growing and be strategic in how we invest to support those decisions."
