"The announcements (by Valérie Létard, Minister of Housing) are not going to revolutionize the market in terms of volume in the coming months. Such is the analysis of Norbert Fanchon, Chairman and CEO of Groupe Gambetta, the day after Mipim. In spite of this, these measures could "prevent the hole from being dug even deeper", in his view.
" That's enough to keep the market at around 250,000 homes. However, even with these measures, activity will still fall," assures Norbert Fanchon, who defends the status of private lessor. "It remains to be seen what will happen next year..."
On the BiTV set, he delivers a no-nonsense analysis, looking back on the decisions taken by his group "as early as 2023". "We understood very early on that this crisis would be a long one", says the man who "anticipates a new cycle from 2027 onwards".
He has therefore repositioned certain programs. He abandoned some. He reduced the company's costs. "The market has shrunk by 30 to 40%, so we've cut those costs by 30 to 40%, which is pretty violent."
" Today, we're stronger to seize tomorrow's opportunities," he promises.
