Chelsea FC set for major development all clear

Chelsea Football Club is set to gain consent for a 60,000-seat football stadium that will see its famous home at Stamford Bridge extended at the expense of more than 200,000 sq ft of commercial development. Planning documents confirm the club, riding high at the summit of the Premier League, has been in talks to potentially move to Wembley Stadium during the up to three-season construction programme, as well as confirming it explored moves to both Battersea Power Station and Earl’s Court before deciding there were no alternative site options for expansion.
