A growing Texas bank has relocated and expanded its San Antonio office in the city's central business district in a move industry experts say will bring new vibrance to this part of the Alamo City.
Amegy Bank signed a lease last year that boosted its office space by nearly 63% to keep up with its business growth and put its workers in the epicenter of the region's growth. The Houston-based bank signed a new office lease totaling more than 44,000 square feet spanning the 21st and 22nd floors of the 28-story office tower at 300 Convent St. in downtown San Antonio.
Amegy Bank relocated to the city's central business district from the North Central submarket. The new lease earned a 2025 CoStar Impact Award for lease of the year in San Antonio, as judged by real estate professionals familiar with the market.
About the deal: The bank's new San Antonio office has about 100 offices and workstations, as well as meeting spaces and a conference center for large customer and community events.
What the judges said: Leah Gallagher, Transwestern's San Antonio market leader, said the lease was the "first large new office lease to a tenant choosing to relocate to the central business district" in a "tremendous vote of confidence" for San Antonio.
They made it happen: Russell Noll of Transwestern Real Estate Services represented the tenant. Mark Krenger and Lisa Mittel of JLL represented the landlord, Affinius Capital.
