Nikki Beach Signs Deal For Ras Al Khaimah Debut

Hotel and leisure firm Nikki Beach has signed a deal with owner RAK Properties to bring the Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Ras al Khaimah in the Mina Al Arab development in the Ras Al Khaimah emirate. The resort will have 155 rooms, but no opening date has been announced.

Scandic Opens Debut Go Brand

Scandic Hotels has opened the first of its new brand Scandic Go in Stockholm with the Scandic Go, Upplandsgatan 4, which has 124 rooms. The second in the brand will also open the Swedish capital but in 2024.

Pestana Acquires Vila Sol Hotel

Pestana Group has bought for 43 million Euro a hotel it already operates, the 189-room Pestana Vila Sol Vilamoura in Portugal’s Algarve region. Real estate asset manager Santander AM was the seller.

Rosewood Munich Welcomes First Guests

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts opened on Oct. 20 the 132- room Rosewood Munich in two grand buildings side by side, the former headquarters of the State Bank of Bavaria and the stately home of Palais Neuhaus-Preysing. It is the hotel firm’s seventh European venture.

St. Regis To Open on Red Sea in December

Marriott International has announced that it will open the St. Regis Red Sea Resort on the Saudi Arabian island of Ummhat Alshaikh, which faces another small island on which sits the firm’s Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve. The St. Regis has 90 rooms, including overwater villas.

Harry’s To Manage Wolfgang

Hotel firm Harry’s Home has signed a long-term deal with owner Fanny-v-Lehnert Grundstücksgesellschaft to manage the 119-room Wolfgang’s Hotel in Salzburg, Austria. Harry’s already manages hotels in four other major Austrian cities — Graz, Linz, Salzburg and Vienna.

Wyndham Signs Seventh Georgia Hotels

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has signed its seventh hotel in Georgia. To open in 2026, the 300-room Wyndham Grand Batumi Gonio will also include 775 branded apartments, suites and townhouses.

First All-Electric Premier Inn Opens

Whitbread PLC has opened its first all-electric hotel, the 195-room Premier Inn Swindon Town Centre in Swindon, England, which is the prototype for all its new builds through 2026 and which will be fueled by renewables.

Barceló Opens First Slovene Hotel

Barceló Hotel Group has debuted in Slovenia with the 148-room Occidental Ljubljana in the Slovene capital, Ljubljana. It is the Spanish firm’s seventh hotel in Eastern Europe, joining those opened in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland.

Banyan Tree To Open Dubai Hotel

Accor division Ennismore has signed a 130 million United Arab Emirate dirham agreement with owner Dubai Holdings to bring several hotels to the Bluewaters district of Dubai. First up will be the 179-room Banyan Tree Dubai, a property that is to replace the closed Caesars Palace Dubai and open in November.

S Hotels & Resorts Purchases Glasgow Mercure

S Hotels & Resorts has spent 7.5 million pounds sterling on the freehold of the 91-room Mercure Glasgow City Hotel from real estate investment trust Alternative Income.

Lamington Opens Belfast Hotels

Ownership firm Lamington Group has opened the 175-room Room2 Belfast in the Northern Ireland capital. It is the brand’s fourth property.

Locke Makes Berlin Debuts

Aparthotel brand Locke has entered the Berlin market with the 176-room Locke at East Side Gallery. The hotel firm has two other German hotels, both in Munich.

Cycas Takes Over Management of Three Northern European Hotels

Management firm Cycas Hospitality has signed two deals to manage three hotels in Northern Europe. In a deal with owner Vertiq Capital, it take over operations of Accor’s 237-room 25Hours Hotel Terminal Nord in Paris; and in a deal with owners Annexum and Orange Investment Managers, it will take over operations of a co-branded property in Rotterdam due to open in 2024. That will consist of the 215-room Mainport Hotel Rotterdam, Curio Collection by Hilton and 265-room Doubletree by Hilton Rotterdam Center.
