NASHVILLE, Tennessee — Remington Hospitality has a plan for organic growth in higher-end hotel segments.

Natalie Weisz, Remington's director of analytics and business intelligence, said the Dallas-based firm is developing specialized in-house teams for lifestyle hotels and food and beverage. During a video interview at the Hotel Data Conference, Weisz added that setup gives Remington an advantage to manage hotels that have similar, complex operations.

Remington manages approximately 120 hotels. Weisz said there's still some softness in demand from international inbound visitors to the U.S. However, there's still plenty of travelers who have not been comfortable leaving the U.S. since the end of the pandemic.

“I am expecting to see a little bit more normalization in that sense in the coming year,” she said, adding that the lowering of interest rates in the U.S. could finally tip the scales and get more people traveling.

Weisz said Remington officials are optimistic by robust levels of group business at its hotels in the last couple of years that is expected to continue.

“Will it get back to where it was, corporate travel? Unlikely. It is not likely to be in the same way. We have seen an increase in group because people are not fully back to the office, everyone is excited to get back together. … We have seen a lot more in the conference, meeting space, and that’s been driving business in our hotels, and the rates are higher,” she said.
