Under a new strategic partnership, Choice Hotels International and Westgate Resorts have joined forces to make all 21 of Westgate's destinations available on the Choice booking platform.
Orlando, Florida-headquartered Westgate is a privately owned timeshare company and resort developer. Bethesda, Maryland-based Choice Hotels' franchise brands include Radisson, Cambria Suites, Quality Inn and more. As of the third quarter 2024, Choice had 6,300 hotels in the U.S. including more than 495,000 rooms.
"The addition of these properties further solidifies our commitment to delivering more diverse travel experiences," Noha Abdalla, chief marketing officer at Choice, said in a statement.
Westgate's resorts are concentrated in Florida, where they have seven in Orlando and two more around the state. Two Westgate resorts are located in Las Vegas, one in midtown Manhattan and others in resort destinations including Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and Branson, Missouri.
Last October, Choice expanded its rewards program to offer longer booking windows and more redemption options. The expanded offerings went into effect this month.
"We are incredibly excited that our hotels are now bookable through ChoiceHotels.com and for this collaboration," said Jared Saft, chief business and strategy officer at Westgate Resorts.
Last year, Choice saw year-over-year growth as of the end of the third quarter, with an emphasis on international portfolio expansion. In the third quarter of 2024, its international room count grew 21% compared to the same time the previous year.
Last March, the company abandoned its hostile takeover bid of competitor Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
