GDB International, a recycling and sustainability solutions company, has expanded its operations with a new location in Mission, Texas.
GDB signed a lease for 64,539 square feet of industrial space in a warehouse in the Sharyland Commerce Center in the Greater McAllen area.
This deal has earned a 2025 CoStar Impact Award for lease of the year in McAllen, Texas. The judges for the award included professionals in the McAllen real estate market.
GDB was founded in 1993 and is headquartered in New Brunswick, New Jersey, with warehouses and offices located around the U.S., China, Ghana and Mexico. The Mission location brings a new sustainability focus to South Texas, local real estate experts said.
"GDB has an impact beyond financial terms. They are doing something to help the environment as well," said Raudel Garza, executive director of the Edinburg Economic Development Corp.
About the deal: GDB's new facility is in a more than 250,000-square-foot, four-star warehouse located near Interstate 2 and the Anzalduas International Bridge, allowing for cross-border and regional distribution between the United States and Mexico.
What the judges said: “The lease of this space to GDB International is an example that companies offering environmental and sustainable services are viable businesses providing jobs to local economies,” said Tim Early, an associate professor in the College of Architecture at Texas A&M University.
They made it happen: Susie Torres, leasing manger; property manager David Ramirez; and Viridiana Suchil, real estate coordinator at Killam Development.
