Eurozone Inflation Falls to 5.5% in June but ECB Not Ready To Pause

Markets React Positively to Figures Despite Core Inflation Persisting at 5.4%

Eurozone headline inflation fell again in June to 5.5% from 6.1% a month earlier, below the 5.6% forecast by a poll of economists surveyed by Reuters. This is the second consecutive month that inflation has come in below market expectations. Core inflation, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, edged up to 5.4% from 5.3%.
