San Diego city officials selected the company that owns professional hockey's San Diego Gulls to manage San Diego Sports Arena, a choice that could influence plans to redevelop more than 100 acres nearby if the two sides can close the deal over opposition from entertainment and sports venue giant Anschutz Entertainment Group.
