Embrey Partners completed Tin Top at The Creamery, a 338-unit mid-rise multifamily property at San Antonio’s The Creamery, last year after starting the project in 2019.

Tin Top at The Creamery is part of a mixed-use project to redevelop and revitalize the historic Borden Dairy plant in San Antonio. The project has been selected as the winner of the 2024 CoStar Impact Award for multifamily development of the year for San Antonio, as judged by a local team of real estate professionals familiar with the market.

The Creamery itself covers 5 acres along the San Antonio River, with retail and office space, a restaurant and an outdoor plaza.

Units at Tin Top at The Creamery are one- or two-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 579 square feet to 1,752 square feet. Community amenities include a fitness center, gaming lounge, swimming pool, business center with private offices, electric vehicle charging and guest suites for overnight visitors.

About the Project: Developer Embrey Partners worked with architectural firm Humphreys and Partners to build a multifamily project close to San Antonio landmarks, such as The Alamo, Pearl District, Hotel Emma, Brackenridge Park Golf Course and the River Walk.

What the Judges Said: “High-profile location and great place for the younger generation to live,” said Carlos Marquez, partner of industrial brokerage services at Partners.

They Made It Happen: Trey Embrey, president and CEO of Embrey Partners, led the development team's effort to revitalize a former dairy plant a few miles north of downtown San Antonio.
