Orange County Population Losses Accelerate

Domestic Migration Outflows Increase Along California's Coast

The population in Orange County, California, declined by 15,000 people, or 0.5%, between July 2022 and July 2023, according to new estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau. The loss is a slight acceleration in the the population decline measured over the past year, but it's short of the loss recorded during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021.
