UK high street bakery giant Greggs is looking for a property asset manager in Newcastle to help run its growing estate of over 2,400 stores.
In a LinkedIn advert, the firm said it was looking for a full-time member of staff to work in the property team alongside its head of property to meet its business plan objectives. The recruit would be responsible for managing the brand's outstanding and forthcoming lease renewals and rent reviews.
They would also be asked to work with and manage its externally appointed surveyors and professional consultants to complete legal transactions and agreements, in addition to supporting its retrofit programme. Greggs has asked that the candidate is RIC- qualified.
The job was advertised by Greggs' senior property manager Simon Heydecke, who has worked at the bakery group for more than 14 years, according to his LinkedIn profile. The role would be based out of the firm's Newcastle headquarters, Greggs House at Quorum Business Park, where it occupies around 31,000 square feet.
According to its full year results for 2023, total sales at Greggs came in at £1.8 billion, marking an increase of 19.6% compared with 2022. It opened a record 220 new shops in 2023 and is expected to launch between 140 and 160 new stores in 2024.
