The portfolios of Choice Hotels International and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts are both heavily weighted in the economy to upper-midscale chain scale segments, but both have gained ground in the upscale and above segments in recent years, largely through acquisitions.

Rockville, Maryland-based Choice Hotels International has gone public with its bid to acquire rival brand Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, which has more than 9,000 hotels globally.

Earlier this week Choice made public its offer to buy Wyndham, kicking off conversations about what a combined Choice and Wyndham might look like. These infographics break down both companies’ brands and open portfolios by chain scale for comparison.

Choice has 22 brands and Wyndham has 24. By comparison, Marriott International has 30, Hilton has 22, IHG has 18, and Accor has 39 hotel brands.
