In what was once one of South Florida’s more quiet coastal towns, developer Grupo Eco has bet on Hallandale Beach's growth with the creation of Atlantic Village, a newly built, expansive mixed-use hub along Broward County’s Federal Highway.
The new destination, built across four phases located at 800, 801, 701 and 601 N. Federal Highway, includes a mix of office, medical and retail space both for sale and lease. Today, the village’s commercial component includes about 203,000 square feet of rentable space that is over 95% leased after first breaking ground in 2020. Tenants at Atlantic Village include schools, a swimming and music academy, medical and professional services providers and a number of restaurants and other retail stores.
Atlantic Village includes environmentally sustainable features that other lifestyle centers lack, including structured vehicle and bike parking, electric vehicle charging stations, and outdoor spaces with public art.
The project has been selected as the winner of the 2024 CoStar Impact Award for commercial development of the year, as judged by a local team of real estate professionals familiar with the market.
About the Project: Atlantic Village is located in the south Broward County community of Hallandale Beach and features electric vehicle charging stations and public art.
What The Judges Said: “Atlantic Village achieved success in a down market, and is helping to spark gentrification in Southeast Broward County," said Michael Feuerman, managing director at Berger Commercial Realty. "This can help extend the commercial success of north Miami-Dade into Southeast Broward by proving that, if you build it, tenants and consumers will come."
They Made It Happen: Salomon Sutton, CEO at Grupo Eco; Daniel Chaberman, commercial director at Grupo Eco; Maggy Sutton, marketing director at Grupo Eco; Daniel Shamosh, property manager at Grupo Eco.
