Jakarta, Indonesia-based Artotel Group — not to be confused with Netherlands-based PPHE Hotel Group’s brand Art’otel — has acquired peer hotel management firm Milestone Pacific Hotel Group, which is also based in the Indonesian capital.
A news release announcing the acquisition did not mention a price tag but stated Artotel Group now has the majority stake in Milestone. Milestone has 45 hotels, all in Indonesia and mostly in second-tier cities, and six brands — Marc, MaxOne, Nite & Day, Ruma Ruma, One of a Kind and Zia.
Artotel Group, which in 2020 managed only 17 hotels, now manages more than 100, only in Indonesia, the world’s fourth largest country by population with approximately 275 million people. Its own brands include Artotel and Dafam.
In collaboration with owner PT Libra Delta Hijau, its newest hotel is the 70-room Artotel Casa Cikarang, which opened on March 20 in the satellite town of Cikarang, approximately 30 miles southeast of Jakarta.
Since 2021, it also has been the master franchisor in Indonesia of French firm Louvre Hotel Group’s Kyriad brand.
Erastus Radjimin, Artotel Group’s founder and CEO, said the group’s strategy will focus on sustainability and technology “so that hotel operations become efficient and effective for guest satisfaction, as well as expanding our hotels’ distribution network to increase the revenue of each hotel we manage.”
Artotel Group also operates several Indonesia restaurant brands.
