San Diego-based Protea Properties, in a joint venture with Western Australian property fund manager Primewest, purchased the Broadway Plaza retail center in Chula Vista, California, for $58.5 million from Kimco Realty Corp., which continues with its previously-announced nationwide sell-off of properties in its non-core markets.
