The owners of Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California, are pressing forward with horse racing at the 300-acre track, one of Southern California's best-known sporting venues, despite a request by the state's racing board to suspend racing through the June 23 end of the current meet after another two horses died. The added pressure to halt races comes after local officials have said they are open to redeveloping the property.
