Andrew Thomas, Colliers' head of international capital markets, has been scrutinising global investors and thinks South East Asians are ready to lead the charge back into UK real estate.

"You have to remember that while Singapore is leading that it does not mean all investors are domiciled there as Taiwan and Indonesia also invest through that platform", an upbeat Thomas said in an interview with CoStar News at the Mipim conference in Cannes, France.

Thomas, who has been involved in London capital markets advice since 1989, says two things are needed to really kickstart activity – "headlines on deals completing" and a "realisation that offices are not a dirty word".

"Parts of Seoul for instance are back five, six days a week in the office," Thomas says, before adding that global investors are getting more confidences in office markets by visiting them and seeing many are busily occupied again.
