Brixton Capital taps new president; Ryan Cos. expands Southeast industrial development; CBRE boosts Florida office services

Brixton Capital names president

Global property investment firm Brixton Capital promoted Rob Taylor to president, overseeing acquisitions, financing, management and other operations of the company’s $2 billion portfolio of assets under management. Taylor, a 25-year industry veteran, joined Brixton in 2023 after more than a decade at private equity firm Invesco Real Estate, where he led western U.S. investments in residential, retail, industrial and office properties.

He also had roles at KBS Realty Advisors and Goldman Sachs, working in acquisitions and capital markets, and has finance degrees from Claremont Graduate University and Loyola Marymount University. Taylor will retain his existing role of chief investment officer at Brixton, based in the San Diego suburb of Solana Beach, California. 

Ryan Cos. expands Southeast industrial development

Developer Ryan Cos. named Kathleen Bonesz as senior vice president of speculative industrial development for its Southeast region, as it looks to expand its services in that property category from its Atlanta office. The company said the 18-year industry veteran previously served as Southeast vice president of logistics at Brookfield Properties. There, he led ground-up industrial development and pre-development services.

The University of Florida graduate has worked previously with logistics clients including Ace Hardware, Ikea and Amazon. Founded in 1938, Minneapolis-based Ryan Cos. has 17 U.S. offices and has developed industrial projects, including distribution centers for Amazon and Kroger, across seven Southeastern states. 

CBRE boosts Florida office services 

Kyle Chaikin (CBRE)

CBRE bolstered its office sales and leasing team in Tampa, Florida, with the addition of Ryan McCurdy as senior vice president and Kyle Chaikin as first vice president. The brokerage said both joined CBRE from Franklin Street, where they were senior directors. The pair will be representing primarily office occupiers in their new roles.

Tampa native McCurdy has more than nine years of industry experience representing local and national clients with leasing, sales and site-selection services, completing over $140 million in lease transactions totaling more than 2.5 million square feet. The Duke University graduate previously played professional baseball with the Houston Astros for five years. Chaikin is a nine-year industry veteran, completing over $100 million in lease deals totaling more than two million square feet. The University of Maryland graduate previously worked as an analyst with global real estate and analytics firms.

Lincoln Property bolsters Texas operations

Stewart Geise (Lincoln Property)

Global development and investment firm Lincoln Property expanded its central Texas leadership team by hiring Stewart Geise as director of property management, based in the company's Austin office. The Dallas-based firm said Geise will lead management and accounting teams providing services geared to its office, retail and industrial properties in the region. Lincoln Property Executive Vice President Seth Johnston said Geise has 17 years of property management experience in cities such as Austin, Houston, San Antonio and El Paso, Texas.

Geise joined Lincoln after nearly two decades at CBRE, where he worked in various property and investment management roles and grew the brokerage’s Austin team from 65 to 115 members. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University and spent four years as an infantry officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. 

Design firm Ayers Saint Gross gets new leader

Joel Fidler was named president of design firm Ayers Saint Gross, based in Baltimore. The 25-year architecture veteran joined the firm in 2011, previously serving as a principal and vice president and leading projects across multiple practice areas including interior renovations and large-scale urban planning. Fidler is a past board member and past president of the Maryland chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

His prior projects include buildings for Maryland School for the Blind, Duke University, Clark University and the Missouri Botanical Garden. Ayers Saint Gross has worked nationwide on mixed-use and office projects for several commercial developers including Boylston Properties, Sagamore Development and Beatty Development Group.
