According to the latest preliminary data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Houston added 57,800 new jobs in 2024, the slowest pace since 2020 and far below the 140,000 annual average between 2021 and 2023. On a year-over-year basis, employment has grown by 1.7%.
