Newmark hires senior managing director

Meredith Cullen joined Newmark’s Houston office as senior managing director in the company’s land services group. Cullen will focus on acquiring and disposing of industrial, office and retail land developments and master-planned communities, the brokerage said. “His track record of success and deep knowledge of the land sector will be a significant value add as we broaden our service offerings in the Houston market,” executive vice president Ran Holman said in a statement. With 20-plus years of experience in commercial real estate, Cullen has completed more than 200 deals with a value above $2 billion. Prior to Newmark he co-led a brokerage team at Cushman & Wakefield and managed the Cullen Realty Group, a firm he told CoStar News he would close when he joined Cushman.

Shoreham Capital adds development manager

Patrick Martin has joined West Palm Beach, Florida-based Shoreham Capital as development manager. He has a background in real estate development and construction management and is experienced in underwriting, financial analysis and managing complex projects. Martin holds master’s degrees in real estate and infrastructure from Johns Hopkins University and in business from Wake Forest University.

Shoreham Capital is a privately held real estate firm with a development history of more than $10 billion in assets. Its portfolio spans the East Coast and Sun Belt regions.

Shoreham and Bridge Investment Group recently purchased nearly 1,200 units of workforce multifamily housing in Alexandria, Virginia. The apartment complex, Mason at Van Dorn, sold for $225 million, according to CoStar data. The property is located near Old Town Alexandria.

 

Two senior leaders join ISS

Marjorie McCarthy (ISS)

ISS, a company that provides cleaning, technical, food and workplace services to the commercial real estate industry, has named Tim Dismond as chief operations officer and Marjorie McCarthy as chief marketing officer. Both are expected to help the Danish company grow its U.S. customer base with Dismond working in its Dallas office and McCarthy in New York. Dismond previously served as chief responsibility officer at CBRE and also served as president of global workplace solutions. McCarthy was chief marketing officer of Unispace Group.

Project management, design specialist joins Savills

Savills tapped Alyssa Pauly as a senior director of project management. She will be based in the firm’s office in the Dallas-Fort Worth region and help clients with strategic planning, budget management, and delivery of real estate projects, Savills said. Pauly "has experience successfully managing both programmatic rollouts and large-scale, complex projects,” Savills’ Texas region co-president Cally Milltenberger said in a statement. Pauly was previously a senior project manager at CBRE and a mechanical design engineer for WSP. She has served on the board of governors for the Dallas chapter of ASHRAE, also known as the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers.

National Valuation Consultants appoints two appraisers

Charles Gardner and Todd Neary joined National Valuation Consultants as senior managing director and senior vice president, respectively, in the company’s new West Palm Beach, Florida office.

Gardner, a specialist in multifamily property valuations, will focus on building and maintaining client relationships, NVC said. Neary brings more than 30 years’ experience working on multifamily, retail, office and industrial assets. Gardner and Neary previously worked together for 20 years at a national valuation and accounting firm.

The additions of Gardner and Neary, along with the new office, further solidifies NVC’s commitment to servicing clients in Florida and across the country, the firm said.

Founded in 1991, National Valuation Consultants has its headquarters in Denver.
