Department store chain J.C. Penney is exiting its corporate office lease in Plano, Texas, to move to space that's more than 80% smaller as part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy, a tough turn for a retailer that made a high-profile departure from New York decades ago for more corporate elbow room.
