JLL has appointed a new head of planning in Scotland with 25 years' experience.

Ally Campbell has worked on major retail developments, purpose-built student accommodation, hotel and office conversions in Edinburgh and Glasgow city centres.

This includes time at property consultants Montagu Evans, where she worked her way up from the role of graduate to partner and delivered a number of high-profile planning permissions.

Campbell also worked as a planning officer for Stirling and Fife councils. Her past projects include leisure development at Hillend Snowsports Centre and residential land allocations.

At JLL, Campbell will lead the Scottish planning team from the firm’s Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.

Cameron Stott, head of Scotland at JLL, said: "We’re committed to making sure we continue to offer the best quality service to our clients, and Ally joining our team is just the latest example of that.

"Across all sectors, development is incredibly challenging in the current climate and it is so important for developers to receive sound commercial advice.

"As an example, we have a shortage of homes in Scotland at the moment, so it’s important that developers are able to access the support they need to manage the planning process and provide a welcome boost to our housing stock.

"Ally brings a wealth of experience in this area and marks an important addition to our team."

JLL announced a number of promotions at the start of the year. Janey Douglas was promoted to senior director in the capital markets team and Andrew McCracken became a director in the industrial and logistics team.
