This week, registration opened for Hotel Data Conference 2025, taking place August 6-8 at the Grand Hyatt Nashville.

Yes, I'm biased, but this is the best conference of the year if you use hospitality and travel data in your job.

Spoiler: That's probably everyone reading this right now!

Hotel Data Conference, which we at Hotel News Now present alongside STR, celebrates its 17th year this August. And that word in the middle, "data," is what makes this conference so special.

I met with our content planning committee a few weeks ago to start the process of building out the conference agenda of general session speakers, data presentations and panel discussions. The two words that came up over and over again in that two-day meeting? The first of course was "data" — I mean, duh, it better be — but the second was "stories."

Around here we are — dare I say it — passionate that data contains multitudes of stories, ideas, ways to approach a scenario, so much more. In other words, data always tells a story if you let it. There's so much to unpack in every number, and data helps you tell the stories of your hotel, your neighborhood and your guests and team, too.

We're using more and more data every day, whether it's hotel performance data, labor statistics, pricing models, airline data, you name it. And it's coming to us from guests, government agencies, large-language models and more. Sometimes it's simple and straightforward, often not.

So if you work with data in the hotel industry in any form, Hotel Data Conference is for you. You will absolutely love the chance to geek out with your fellow data nerds. And most importantly, you will pick up new ways to use data to tell your hotel's stories and new approaches to unpacking the stories behind the data you think you already know.

As I work to plan the agenda, I'd love to hear from you. I want our stage to represent our industry and I definitely don't know everyone in this business! Fill out this form if you'd like to be considered as a future HDC speaker.

See you in Nashville in August! Or maybe at the Hunter Conference in Atlanta in two weeks? Email me and let's say hi.
