Price Brothers unveiled a transformative commercial development with the October 2024 opening of the AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk in the developer’s home city of Overland Park, Kansas.
This 260,000-square-foot multifaceted sporting venue, a cornerstone of the innovative Bluhawk mixed-use destination, established itself as a model for community-focused and sustainable development.
The design of the AdventHealth Sports Park prioritizes flexibility and multifunctionality, addressing the demands of accommodating diverse sports and events within a single space.
The centerpiece of the development is its multi-court functionality, capable of hosting eight hardwood basketball courts, 16 volleyball courts, a 3,200-seat championship arena and a multipurpose turf field overlay. The turf overlay system allows for rapid transformation, accommodating indoor soccer, football training and even nonsporting events like trade shows and community gatherings, ensuring year-round utilization.
Furthermore, a 1,500-seat NHL/NCAA regulation ice rink provides hockey and skating opportunities.
Beyond its sporting capabilities, the venue emphasizes health and wellness. Implementing Fitwel certification standards, the project focuses on human-centric design, promoting healthy behaviors. Sustainability is also a core principle, with Bluhawk anticipating a 50% reduction in potable water usage compared to EPA baselines through native plantings and efficient irrigation. LED site lighting reduces energy consumption and minimizes light pollution.
The AdventHealth Sports Park also provides a robust entertainment component, featuring 40,000 square feet of premium entertainment options, including boutique bowling, laser tag, sports simulators, an arcade, virtual reality experiences and an overhead roll glider, as well as a full-service bar and grill.
The facility also features a comprehensive sports performance center managed by C26 Hub, offering innovative training methodologies and equipment, including a state-of-the-art 25-yard lap pool.
The development earned a 2025 CoStar Impact Award for commercial development of the year for Kansas City as judged by real estate professionals familiar with the market.
