Global investment manager Federated Hermes has appointed Paul Robinson as director of origination and restructuring in its real estate debt team.
Robinson enters the newly created role after being with bank JPMorgan Chase for just under two years, where he was a consultant, according to his LinkedIn profile. Working in Federated Hermes' London offices, Robinson will report to Vincent Nobel, who is head of asset based lending.
Federated Hermes has said that Robinson will be responsible for "driving the origination of lending opportunities", and the "design of customised loan structuring to ensure income capture and to deliver stable and consistent income distributions to investors over the long-term".
He previously headed up the underwriting teams at Trimont Real Estate Advisors and Hudson Advisors. Prior to this, Robinson held roles in the commercial real estate businesses of banks including Lloyds, Hypo Real Estate and Anglo Irish, having started his career at GE Capital.
Vincent Nobel, head of asset-based lending at Federated Hermes, said in a statement: "We are pleased to welcome Paul whose relevant experience will help us to further identify attractive investment opportunities and maintain our asset-focused and successful underwriting approach."
Robinson's appointment follows the hire of Mark Russell last week as head of fund management for real estate at Federated Hermes. The real estate debt business was launched in 2015 and has more than $2 billion of assets under management.
