Art’otel Opens in London

The Radisson Hotel Group-branded Art’otel London Hoxton opened on April 24 in the East End of the British capital. It has 357 rooms and is a sibling to the brand’s other London hotel, the Art’otel London Battersea Power Station, which opened in February 2023.

Leonardo Acquires Rome Hotel

Fattal Hotels via its Leonardo hotel brand has acquired the Hotel Cicerone Rome, which will reopen following a renovation as the NYX Hotel Rome by Leonardo Hotels, which will have approximately 300 rooms. Located in the Prati district of the Italian capital, the hotel is adjacent to the Castel Sant’Angelo to the west of the River Tiber.

Hyde Debuts in Turkey

Accor brand Hyde, which is part of the French firm’s Ennismore division, debuted in Turkey on May 2 with the opening of the 212-room Hyde Bodrum.

Edition Jeddah Opens

Edition Hotels opened on May 2 the Edition Jeddah, a brand debut in Jeddah, but the firm’s 20th in Saudi Arabia. The hotel has 63 rooms.

Travelodge Acquires Six Spanish Campanile Hotels

Travelodge United Kingdom, via its Travelodge OpCo Group, has acquired six hotels and 773 rooms in Spain from Louvre Hotels Group, which is currently operating them under the brand umbrella Hotel Campanile. All but one of the hotels have been acquired on a freehold basis, with the final one acquired on a long leasehold. The hotels are in the cities of Alicante, Barcelona, Madrid, Málaga and Murcia.

Holiday Inn Opens in Lancashire Tourism Great

The 144-room Holiday Inn Blackpool, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, has opened in Blackpool, Lancashire, England, the famed seaside destinations known for its illuminations and storied entertainment past. It is managed by RBH Hospitality Management and is part of the city’s £350 million ($437 million) Talbot Getaway regeneration project.

Leva Signs Third Hotel in Saudi Arabia

United Arab Emirates-based Leva Hotels and owner Siraj Holdings have signed the 134-room hotel Al Olaya. No opening date has been announced for the Riyadh hotel. Leva has four hotels opened in the UAE, Saudi Arabia (2) and Ethiopia, but its pipeline additions include hotels in Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Zimbabwe.

Elite Opens First Turkish-Owned Hotel in West Africa

Istanbul-based Elite World Hotels & Resorts has signed the first Turkish-owned hotel in West Africa: the Elite World Grand Yamoussoukro in the capital of Ivory Coast. Scheduled to open in June 2026, it will be the company’s 11t hotel and first one outside of Turkey.

Indigo to Come to Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Provinces

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with developer Refad Real, part of company Abdulhadi AlQahtani, to open by September 2027 the Hotel Indigo & Residences Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The hotel’s room count has not been finalized but will be approximately 200.

Radisson To Enter Paris’ Historic Haussman Building

Radisson Hotel Group and developer Redevco are partnering on a hotel in Paris to be operated under the Radisson Collection brand in the heart of Paris. To open in early 2027 adjacent to the Louvre Museum, the 57-room property will be on floors five to eight of the nationally listed Haussman building, which is undergoing a renovation.

South Africa to Get First Mama Shelter

Accor’s Ennismore will open the first Mama Shelter hotel in South Africa in a deal with owner Kasada. The Cape Town hotel is a management agreement and will have 127 rooms, but so far there is no announced opening date.
