Industrial vacancy shoots up in San Diego border town

San Diego's community of Otay Mesa is in the midst of a weakened demand environment that has seen the vacancy rate climb from a low of 2% in 2022 to 13.5% during the fourth quarter of this year. That has represented a year-over-year change of more than 5 percentage points, and it’s the highest vacancy rate in over a decade.
