It seems no one can take care of maintenance and repairs at apartment complexes quicker than Jacob Paff.
Paff, a greater Cincinnati-based employee of Southfield, Michigan-based multifamily firm Village Green, won the title of "world’s fastest maintenance technician" during a competition last month in San Diego put on by the National Apartment Association.
Representing the Greater Cincinnati Northern Virginia Apartment Association, Paff emerged as one of 20 finalists from a pool of thousands, and then he ended up as the top performer at NAA's 15th annual Maintenance Mania National Championship event.
Participants had to tackle seven maintenance challenges that tested their skills and knowledge.
Greg Quercetti of The Westover Cos. and the Delaware Apartment Association placed second, and coming in third was Jimmy Garcia with RangeWater Real Estate and the First Coast Apartment Association. Nearly $20,000 in prizes were handed out, provided by Maintenance Mania's presenting sponsor, HD Supply, and national sponsors.
“Maintenance professionals are the unsung heroes of the rental housing industry,” NAA President and CEO Bob Pinnegar said in a statement. “These are the people who keep apartment buildings running."
