Aviva Investors, the global asset manager of insurer Aviva, has hired Fraser Lundie as its global head of fixed income, after 14 years at a rival firm.

Lundie, who will be based in London, will report to chief investment officer Daniel McHugh and will have overall responsibility for the global rates, investment grade, high yield, emerging market debt and global liquidity teams.

He has "extensive experience" in asset management and joins from Federated Hermes, where he was head of fixed income, public markets. He was responsible for the firm’s fixed income franchise and lead manager on several strategies.

Aviva Investors added that Lundie developed a "strong focus on sustainability within investing in credit, including the pioneering design and launch of award-winning credit strategies, incorporating engagement and climate goals" during his time at his former employer.

McHugh said in a statement: "Fraser has a very deep wealth of experience across all asset classes within the fixed income universe and a deep understanding of delivering sustainable solutions.

"I confident he will make a very positive contribution to the business as we endeavour to deliver strong performance and solutions for our clients."
