Seattle’s retail vacancy rose to highest level in six years in 2024

Big Lots closures had the biggest impact

Heading into the first quarter of 2025, Seattle’s retail vacancy rate reached its highest level since 2018. While still low, the Puget Sound region’s 3.5% vacancy rate represents about an 85 basis point rise from its all-time low reached at the start of 2020.
