Real estate agency Savills has appointed Ollie Saunders to head of self storage, where he will work in the operational capital markets team, based at the firm’s Margaret Street head office in London.
Saunders has almost 30 years’ experience and joins Savills after nine years working for rivals JLL. Prior to this he spent 20 years at Drivers Jonas and Deloitte. While at Deloitte, Saunders spent a six month secondment in Dubai, where he worked across the Middle East and Africa.
Savills described Saunders as having an "industry-leading profile within the European self-storage sector", having covered mergers and acquisitions, valuation, consultancy and capital markets advice, which he will continue to focus on in his new role.
Peter Allen, head of operational capital markets at Savills, said in a statement: "Ollie is the undisputed expert in this rapidly growing sector, having advised on the majority of the important trades across the UK and Europe.
"The synergies self-storage has with the wider Living sectors are compelling and we are excited to now be able to offer our clients’ access to the depth of knowledge he commands."
