Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, New York, faced a tight deadline to find new space for its nursing school after selling the building that housed Crouse School of Nursing in 2022.
Multiple stakeholders and groups worked together to help the nursing school meet its deadline, and that collaboration won Crouse School of Nursing a 2023 CoStar Impact Award, as judged by real estate professionals familiar with the market.
Working with Pyramid Brokerage, Crouse School of Nursing identified an occupied top-floor space at 5000 Britton Parkway in East Syracuse. The challenge was negotiating the surrender and buyout of the space so the nursing school could occupy it in time for the upcoming school year.
The deal was done with collaboration between the school and building owner Albany Road Real Estate Partners and its broker, Harkaway Commercial. The school worked with King & King Architects on construction using sustainable components with an emphasis on energy conservation. Rich & Gardner Construction provided construction management, and the lease and renovation were completed in time for the school to welcome its new class of students.
