BT agrees £200m+ sale of historic St Paul’s home and selects preferred option for new 300,000 sq ft London HQ

UK telecoms giant BT has agreed a deal to sell its London headquarters for more than £200m and, concurrently, selected a preferred option for the relocation of its new 300,000 sq ft HQ in London, CoStar News can reveal.

Great Portland Estates has emerged as the successful bidder to buy BT’s 273,000 sq ft development at 81 Newgate Street near St Paul’s Cathedral. GPE has agreed terms to buy the building from a shortlist of three parties that was selected at the start of the year. A joint venture between Canary Wharf Group and Brookfield, as well as a JV between Henderson Park and CORE, made up the final three on the shortlist, CoStar News has learned.
