Jim Chapman Construction Group, a lot developer and homebuilding general contractor, has hired two directors for its preconstruction team.

The company, whose headquarters is just outside of Atlanta, appointed AJ Colasurdo as director of preconstruction and land development and Robert O’Neil as its director of preconstruction — vertical.

Colasurdo will lead the preconstruction, estimating and project management teams, the company said. Among other duties, he also will be responsible for maintaining budgets, schedules, quality standards and risk management strategies.

“These comprehensive responsibilities underscore AJ's integral role in steering project development from conceptualization to completion, ensuring all processes align with the company’s high standards and strategic goals,” President Jim Chapman said in a statement.

Prior to Jim Chapman Construction, Colasurdo served in designer, manager and director roles with such firms as Scapes, Bohler Engineering and Barrier Island Engineering & Consulting.

Meanwhile, O’Neil will handle bids for all vertical construction items, working with trade partners and project managers, according to the company. In a statement, Chapman said O'Neil plays a “crucial role in guiding project development from inception to fruition, ensuring seamless alignment with our company's rigorous standards and strategic objectives.”

Before joining Chapman, O’Neil held homebuilder leadership roles, overseeing the construction of more than 2,000 single-family houses and 1.5 million square feet of commercial condominiums nationwide.

Colasurdo holds a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Mississippi State University, and O’Neil has a degree in business administration and managerial economics from Georgia State University.
