In the first labor market report since the Bay Area’s shelter-in-place order was put in place on March 17, the East Bay saw a decrease of 2,000 net jobs according to preliminary estimates from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. But this will be just the beginning of steep job losses over the coming months.
