20 years, 200 issues, 200 covers... these two figures could be endlessly repeated. For two decades, Business Immo has been the only perennial monthly in the real estate industry. For twice ten years, Business Immo has been a regular fixture with its readers and subscribers. For 20 years, Business Immo has produced quality editorial content in a sometimes... rainy environment. And do you know what? We've loved doing it all.
As journalists, we've often investigated with little means, but with great persistence. As journalists, we interviewed both today's majors and tomorrow's real estate industry hopefuls. As journalists, we had fun drawing your portraits in our columns. Finally, as journalists, we wanted to bring you the very best in specialized information in every issue of this magazine. Without compromise or compromise, but with passion, seriousness and deontology. Fueled, no doubt, by the intimate conviction that the right information can enlighten, aid decision-making, promote market transparency and bring the truth to your fingertips. This is our sole purpose. That's our only job. A job often misunderstood, fantasized about, but in all humility, indispensable to our economies, I would even say to our democracies.
For once, I'm going to allow myself to talk about my vision of this printed magazine in a world of the press that is said to be moribund. A major pillar of our editorial offering, Business Immo magazine - BIG today - is the necessary corollary to breaking news, as we journalists say. Every month, it embodies the indispensable time for analysis and reflection, the moment dedicated to investigation that remains the lifeblood of our profession. This magazine is also living proof of the esteem in which we hold our readers, by delivering high value-added content. Last but not least, a magazine is both content and container, as I often like to say. Business Immo is also the integration of an entire editorial value chain: journalists, editorial secretaries, a graphics studio... who compose a new symphony every month. As you can imagine, this magazine is my "best product ever", my little favorite.
But enough nostalgia, because the best is yet to come. This 200th anniversary is also an opportunity to look to the future. For news in general, and Business Immo in particular, I believe it opens a new chapter in the history of information. As part of the CoStar group, a world leader in the field, Business Immo will be unveiling a new version of its website in a few months' time, followed by richer, denser, more in-depth information, with the contribution of data and analytics which, in these... complex times, are becoming indispensable to you, the players in the real estate industry. As you know - some of you have been reading us for 20 years - our trademark is our creativity, our ability to renew, innovate and even disrupt. We look forward to seeing you in considerably less than 20 years to demonstrate this once again.
