Dermody Properties President and CEO Douglas Kiersey Jr. and its top leaders picked eight community organizations to receive the 2024 Annual Thanksgiving Capstone Award.

Each year, Dermody's executive leadership team honors groups that help people in need. The logistics, investment and development firm said it created the annual Thanksgiving Capstone Award "with the overall goal of helping address the increased needs of those at risk, especially during the holidays."

The eight organizations recognized this year are in markets where Dermody Properties operates. Each will receive awards ranging from $5,000 to $25,000, for a total of $85,000, the company said.

“Supporting the communities where we operate is a cornerstone of our company’s values," Dermody Executive Chairman Michael Dermody said in a statement. “The Thanksgiving Capstone Award enables us to fulfill this mission by supporting organizations that are making a positive difference in the lives of those who need it most.”

The organizations Dermody picked for this year's award are the Food Bank of Northern Nevada; Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada; St. Mary’s Food Bank in Phoenix; NC Arts Disaster Relief Fund in Raleigh, North Carolina; the Northfield Township Food Pantry in Northfield Township, Illinois; the North Texas Food Bank in Plano, Texas; Feeding America of Riverside|San Bernardino in Southern California; The Catholic Shrine of Immaculate Conception’s St. Francis Table Soup Kitchen in Atlanta.
