CBRE appoints chief growth officer for UK
CBRE has promoted Tim Hamilton to chief growth officer for its UK occupier business. In the newly created role, he will develop and implement CBRE’s UK growth strategy, targeting new client business, grow market share and drive revenue, the world's largest real estate broker said. Hamilton, who has spent the last 30 years at the business, will also be responsible for continuing to develop and expand the firm’s client solutions function across all key occupier services. He will report to Julie Ennis, who joined CBRE in May last year to head up its UK occupier business.
Gerald Eve welcomes senior surveyor in Midlands
Gerald Eve, a Newmark company, has bolstered its Midlands industrial team with the hire of Francesca Hodson from Avison Young. Hodson, who becomes a senior surveyor, spent more than three years at her former employer, according to her LinkedIn profile, starting as a graduate surveyor. She will sit in the firm's industrial and logistics agency team in the Midlands. Charles Spicer, national head of industrial and logistics agency, said: "We are committed to recruiting the best talent and we welcome Frankie. The growing team ensures we can continue to provide our clients with a first-class service."
Cain appoints global head of capital formation
Lisa Feifer has been hired by alternative asset manager Cain International to global head of capital formation. Feifer has around 25 years' experience and joins the senior leadership team, where she will "help drive the firm’s capital-raising efforts and client offerings" across its core growth strategies. She most recently worked for Civitas Investment Management as head of investor relations and capital raising. She spent 13 years at Orion Capital Managers before that and gained experience in real estate fund management and investments at AIG and JLL in New York City.
Colliers adds building consultancy director in London
Paul Davies has entered the project and building consultancy team at Colliers, becoming a director in London. Davies joins with 30 years' of experience, having most recently worked for CBRE, where he specialised in new build, refurbishment and office fit-out projects. This saw him work predominately on Cat A and Cat B projects for commercial developers, investors and occupiers. Colliers said its recruit is experienced in many other property sectors "delivering projects up to £250 million". Davies has also worked for Turner & Townsend and Faithful & Gould.
Savills' Victoria Garrett earns promotion
Savills has promoted Victoria Garrett to head of global residential less than a year after joining the firm from Knight Frank as a director in the same team. Garrett took on her new role at the start of the year, according to her LinkedIn page, having joined the firm initially in April. She spent almost a decade and a half at her former employer, where she has head of residential for Asia-Pacific and was a global residential board member. She was based in the Middle East and Asia Pacific for 11 years and moved to London last year. Garrett also worked for Foxtons earlier on in her career.
JLL hires to UK and Europe data centres team
JLL has made Steve Ross its UK and Ireland data centre operations lead and appointed others ahead of a predicted AI-driven development boom across the UK and Europe. Ross was technical facilities director at Ark Data Centres and will report to Mike Harrington, head of data centre facilities management, EMEA. Godfrey Anderson joins as director, critical environment centre of excellence programme lead – EMEA region, having previously served as EMEA head of engineering design for Morgan Stanley. Ross Smyth joins as senior consultant – EMEA data centre consulting.
Bishop a shoo-in for Clarks property role
Shoemaker Clarks has appointed Paul Bishop as its head of properties for the UK and Ireland. Bishop, who announced the news on his LinkedIn page, spent 24 years working for retailer Gap between 1997 and 2014, where he progressed to senior director of real estate for EMEA. Before that he worked as an asset manager for NFU Mutual and was most recently consultancy PTG Real Estate Associates, advising retail occupiers "across all real estate matters". Clarks operates from hundreds of stores across the UK and was founded in the 1820s.
