Family Care Health Centers, a health care company that caters to low-income families in the St. Louis area, plans to open a new health care facility in Carondelet by the end of this year. The 35,000-square-foot facility, which broke ground in November 2001, is being developed by St. Louis-based Volk Construction Co. Completion is scheduled for December 2002. Located at 401 Holly Hills Avenue, the new facility is almost three times as large as the current facility, located just around the corner at 6313 Michigan Avenue. Shortly after construction is complete, the old facility will be demolished and converted into a parking lot for the new facility.
