The Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts Board of Directors has named Alejandro Reynal as its new president and CEO effective today, according to a news release.

Reynal served as president and CEO of Apple Leisure Group since 2019. Prior to joining Apple Leisure Group, Reynal was CEO from 2011 to 2019 at Atento, a global customer relationship management and business process outsourcing services company.

In August 2021, Hyatt Hotels Corp. closed on its $2.7 billion acquisition of Apple Leisure Group, a luxury resort developer, owner and manager as well as a leisure travel group.

Reynal succeeds John Davison, who spent 20 years with the Toronto, Canada-based Four Seasons and will remain on the company’s board of directors after retiring, according to the news release. Four Seasons Founder and Chairman Isadore Sharp praised Davison’s leadership at the company.

“I am deeply grateful to him and our executive leadership team for their unwavering leadership through some of the hospitality industry’s most challenging times,” he said.

Michael Larson, chief investment officer of Cascade Investment, said Reynal is a highly respected and experienced CEO who will guide Four Seasons through the next phase of its evolution. Cascade Investment owns a 71.25% stake in Four Seasons.

“Throughout his career, Alejandro has led and inspired global teams to embrace innovation, leverage the power of data and insights, and deliver top financial performance and value to both investors and customers,” he said.

Reynal said he looks forward to working with Four Season’s board, executive leadership team and employees.

“There are numerous strategic opportunities ahead, and we are well positioned to steer a new course in the luxury space that will further enhance the value and power of our brand,” he said.

In 2021, the company opened hotels in California's Napa Valley, in New Orleans and in Taormina, Italy. Thus far in 2022, the company has opened hotels in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and Minneapolis, with one in Nashville set to open in November.

Four Seasons has 124 properties around the world, recently announced a Four Seasons-branded yacht experience and recently launched a branded private jet.
