The Corcoran Group residential brokerage has launched its first franchise in Mexico as part of an expansion across North America.

Corcoran The Baja Real Estate Co., owned by Blake Harrington, will serve clients throughout the Cabo San Lucas metropolitan area, an emerging luxury market, New York-based Corcoran Group said.

Harrington co-founded REmexico Real Estate in 2010 before becoming vice president at Snell Real Estate, a Baja, California Sur, brokerage, where he led the company that topped $1 billion in sales volume. Harrington has individually represented more than $400 million in transactions across Cabo San Lucas, placing him in the top percentile in the market, according to Corcoran.

“Cabo San Lucas is a vibrant destination and a global leader in tourism, luxury and culture — the perfect market for the Corcoran brand’s expansion into Mexico,” Pamela Liebman, president and CEO of The Corcoran Group, said in a statement.

Investor and television personality Barbara Corcoran founded the firm in New York in 1973. She sold her stake in 2001 to NRT, now known as Anywhere Advisors, for $66 million and is no longer affiliated with the brokerage. It now has more than 100 offices and 30 affiliates worldwide.

Corcoran launched its affiliate network in early 2020. Last year, the brokerage added domestic affiliates in Northern California, New Jersey and Texas and international affiliates in Italy and Canada. This year, it added franchises in Boston, Portland, Oregon, and Raleigh, North Carolina.
